Under the curatorial direction of Nicola Lees, 80 Washington Square East gallery presents contemporary and historical exhibitions, as well as experimental projects by noted artists and curators, produced in collaboration with faculty and students from the Department of Art and Art Professions. The gallery also hosts MFA Thesis exhibitions each spring and displays exhibitions in two Windows Galleries, on view 24/7. Located in New York's East Village, the gallery is closely tied to the international art world and emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach to art. Founded in 1974, 80 Washington Square East is a not-for-profit gallery in the historic Benedick building at Washington Square Park.
