The Proper Way was formed when Shane Osguthorpe and Scott Rogers met at a local festival and were asked to perform together. They officially became The Proper Way in 2016 and began touring extensively. In 2018, they teamed up with singer-songwriter Carrie Myers to release a collection of songs by Bob Dylan and Tom Waits titled Ain't No Good Thing Ever Dies.
