EDIN, formerly known as the Atlanta Anti-Eating Disorders League (AAEDL), was founded in 1996 by Dr. Dina Zeckhausen, after being inspired by a workshop led by members of the Vancouver Anti-Anorexia Anti-Bulimia League. The organization was established to fight weight-based prejudice, raise awareness, and create a resounding voice of sanity in the fight against eating disorders. Since its inception, EDIN has grown to include hundreds of members across the country and is committed to preventing all types of disordered eating through awareness, education, and outreach.
