Ruby's Diner was founded in 1980 by Doug Cavanaugh, who was inspired to create a 1940's style diner after spotting a dilapidated building on Balboa Pier. With the support of his father and friend Ralph Kosmides, Cavanaugh turned his vision into reality. Ruby's Diner offers a menu of fantastic burgers, shakes, fries, sandwiches, and vegetarian and gluten-free options, all served with a "ruby magic smile."
