New Amsterdam School

New Amsterdam School was founded in 2006 as a grassroots alliance of educators, parents, and community leaders with the goal of bringing Waldorf education to Lower Manhattan. Today, the independent, nonsectarian school serves early childhood through 4th grade and will be expanding to 8th grade by 2023. With small class sizes, in-person learning, and a supportive community, New Amsterdam School integrates art, movement, music, and nature into students' daily lives to ignite their imagination and foster a lifelong joy in learning. The school is a member of WECAN and an Associate Member of AWSNA, and is committed to developing imaginative and critical thinking, emotional maturity, and social responsibility in its students.
