National Guard RECRUITING

The National Guard serves both state and federal governments, with units being combat-trained and capable of deployment overseas, as well as serving in their home communities. They train one weekend per month and one two-week period each year, and assist in local emergencies such as storms, floods, and fires. Guard companies deployed overseas may see combat, but are often found engaging in humanitarian efforts such as building schools and hospitals, training local peacekeepers, and teaching local farmers more efficient techniques.
