Malena M. Amato, M.D.

Dr. Malena M. Amato is a board certified surgeon specializing in Eyelid and Facial Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery. She completed her undergraduate degree with Honors at Boston College and earned her medical degree at Georgetown University. Dr. Amato pursued General Surgery at Stanford University and Ophthalmology Residency at Georgetown, obtaining board certification. She further specialized in Oculoplastic and Facial Surgery with a 2-year accredited ASOPRS fellowship. Dr. Amato has contributed to research, authored book chapters and peer-reviewed papers, and served as president of the Austin Ophthalmology Society. She is currently an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Dell Medical School and has a special interest in medical missions. In 2017, she founded Eyelid & Facial Plastic Surgery Associates and has participated in medical mission trips to Cambodia and contributed to Hurricaine Harvey Relief. Dr. Amato is currently treating patients in the underserved community in El Paso, Texas, with plans for satellite office locations in the future.
