Environmental Charter School - Middle School

The Environmental Charter School - Middle School began in 2008 with grades K-3 and has since expanded to include grades 4-8. In 2020, the school opened its Ninth Grade Academy and plans to continue growing by one grade each year until 12th grade. As the first environmentally themed public school in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, ECS fills a gap in local education programs. The school's approach to education focuses on real-world problems and aims to build active, engaged, and empathetic citizens.
