DOs (Osteopathic Physicians)

The American Osteopathic Association (AOA) is the professional family for over 123,000 osteopathic physicians and medical students. It promotes public health, encourages research, and serves as the primary certifying body for DOs. The AOA also accredits all osteopathic medical schools. The organization stands for principles such as enhancing membership value, protecting DOs' rights, and supporting quality care for all Americans. It collaborates with others to advance the practice of osteopathic medicine and has achieved milestones such as the establishment of National Osteopathic Medicine Week and surpassing 100,000 DO graduates from osteopathic medical colleges.
