Distance Education Accrediting Commission

The Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) is a private, nonprofit organization established in 1926, serving as the only recognized national accreditor exclusively dedicated to distance education quality. With nearly two million students annually studying at its accredited institutions, DEAC sets high standards for academic quality and fosters excellence in teaching, learning, and student outcomes through voluntary assessment and peer review. DEAC member institutions offer over 500 different academic, vocational, and avocational courses at a distance, either online or via mail, with the DEAC dedicated to promoting educational excellence and fostering quality assurance through voluntary accreditation and peer evaluation.
