Founded in March 2012, Chinatown Community for Equitable Development is a multi-ethnic, intergenerational organization in Los Angeles Chinatown. The organization works to build grassroots power with low-income and immigrant communities through organizing, education, and mutual help. It was established in response to the pending development of Wal-Mart and is comprised of community activists, residents, business owners, workers, and youth.
