Dr. Rakesh Gupta, MD, received his education in Bangalore, India and graduated with Honors from J. N. Medical College in Belgaum, India, receiving several gold medals. He joined the faculty of New York Medical College from 1987 – 1990 before joining Cape Fear Center for Digestive in November 1990. Dr. Gupta's major interests include the diagnosis and management of various gastrointestinal disorders, with a special emphasis on dietary education. He also performs colonoscopy for routine colon cancer screening and therapeutic intervention as needed.
