Austin Mic Exchange

Austin Mic Exchange (AMX) was founded in 2012 as a weekly hip-hop open mic night at Spider House Ballroom and has since evolved into an events booking company, community support foundation, and advocate for musician's rights. AMX is also the founder of Weird City Fest, Austin's annual first hip hop festival. The organization's goal is to provide opportunities for hip-hop artists of all levels and backgrounds, unite the local hip-hop scene, and give young artists the tools to grow. In addition to the weekly open mic, AMX hosts a weekly podcast and special events such as rap battles and block parties. The team at AMX is dedicated to creating an environment of pure democracy where anyone can showcase their work and help cultivate the hip-hop community in Austin, Texas.
