Athletic Trainers Board

The Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers is a part of the Texas Department of State Health Services, administered by the state government of Texas. The board is responsible for final disciplinary actions, including license denial, surrender, and revocation, and operates an investigative section for processing complaints against athletic trainers. It also assists in planning and implementing athletic injuries and illness prevention programs, conducts research, provides instruction on athletic training and sports medicine, and supervises the administrative components of sports training programs for high schools, colleges, universities, athletic organizations, facilities, and health care centers.
