Ashesh Dinesh Mehta, MD

Dr. Ashesh D. Mehta, MD, PhD, is a highly experienced and accomplished neurosurgeon, serving as the director of neurosurgery at Glen Cove Hospital and the director of epilepsy surgery at North Shore University Hospital. With 15 years of experience, he specializes in epilepsy surgery, functional brain mapping, brain and spine tumors and trauma, and degenerative spine disease. Dr. Mehta is also the director of the Laboratory of Human Brain Mapping at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, where he leads groundbreaking research in minimally invasive neurosurgical techniques. He has received NIH funding for his research and has been recognized as one of Castle Connolly's Top Doctors. Dr. Mehta is dedicated to advancing minimally invasive neurosurgical techniques to improve precision and reduce recovery time, and he is actively involved in clinical trials to further expand the use of innovative technologies in neurosurgery. As an assistant professor of neurosurgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, he also instructs future neurosurgeons in these new techniques.
