Anthropology & Archaeology at Central Wyoming College

The Western American Studies Program at Central Wyoming College offers an interdisciplinary exploration of the archaeology and history of the Central Rocky Mountains and Plains. Students study the prehistory, history, and natural science that shaped the landscape and people of the region, with a focus on who was there, how they arrived, and their interactions. Practical experience in the field, labs, and museum facilities is emphasized, and students have the opportunity to participate in archaeological field schools and present their research at conferences. Many students find employment as professional archaeologists while pursuing their degrees at CWC.
